an open letter to my fading friends

dear fading friends,

i remember a time when i couldn’t wait for the weekend, just to get the chance to party together. a time where memories of a great feista could give you some breathing room while trudging through a lackluster November. i remember fighting guys who i had no business fighting, to stick up for many of you. (i also remember when you guys fought for me, and that was way to often). i remember sunday afternoons spent nursing heavy hangovers with a playstation and the piecing together of the previous nights adventures. the reason i’m writing you is because i miss you guys. i miss the nights and laughs we shared. i miss going to the zoo and acting like idiots. i miss the times when getting together didn’t mean checking our planners and the month to come.

i realize that everyone has their own lives and that’s fine. it happens and there is really nothing we can do about it. it’s just something that can’t be denied. i did, however, want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that there was a time when we were each others lives, and i wouldn’t give that up for anything.

i just wanted you guys to know that.
