fantastic news for sherold

congragulations Sherri on your evening/swing position in P.E.I.

i’m really proud of you and the work you put into acheiving what you have always wanted. go rock the shit out of charlottetown.

and you were worried…….

that was the best of the worst…i’ll see if i can scrounge up more for a very special Sherri K tribute.

and now for the grad pics. grads are really funny things. in the end, you realize that they are bascially just a reason for the pompus big shots who run all the Fanshawe programs to get together and talk about how wicked cool they all look in their dandy robes and scarves. in addition to witnessing the fantastic super blow job that is the grad ceremony, you also get the chance to remember why you thought school was so fun to begin with in the first place. now i know, it’s tough to look around a room and hear about who is working where and how bright the future is looking for some, but you have to look on the bright side. out of all the poeple you spent two years of your life working with, at least 3 of them became your really good friends. the reason why so many people repeat in these photo’s is because i consider them really close friends, and i want to remember what i got out of the program.

them.

here’s to radio school

where are the pictures?

good question.

well, let’s just say that Jason has been a little sick the last couple of days (hangover) after enjoying himself at the Fanshawe College Broadcast Awards or as I like to call it, FCBA.

the pictures will be posted soon, so be patient.

to kill time why don’t you do yourself a favor and go buy (download) the new Twilight Singers album, Powder Burns.

I have been listening to it non stop these last couple of weeks and it really is and amazing album.  I would even go as far as calling it my favorite album of 2006 to this point.  jagged guitars with a bluesy, loungey feel to them are the backdrop to some of the greatest lyrics I have heard in a long time.  this album is well worth the time.

I also just got down watching season 2 of Rescue Me, which stars one of the Twilight Singers biggest fans, Denis Leary.

if you haven’t seen any episodes of what might be the most well written show on TV (i’m sorry Lost, i love you), then you have no idea what your missing.  the show is hilariously funny and savagely poignant at the same time.  it’s a real credit to the acting and writing ability of Leary, he really has become a true talent.  if I were you, I would find somebody who owns the first and second season, steal them, and get caught up.  the third season starts in august. (and no, you can’t borrow them from me)

so in closing, if you came here looking for pictures of FCBA night, your out of luck.  they are on the way though, so in the meantime, check out the above mentioned CD and TV show.  you’ll be happy you did.

blink and you’ll miss a month…..

……and you will still have no full time radio job.

i’m back.

i’ve spent the last month trying to find a full time radio job, and as you can guess, it’s been a tad bit hard.

i’m now working a part time job operating for Newstalk 1290 CJBK. it’s a step in the right direction, but it’s still hard to be patient and wait.

so in the meantime…….i decided to spice this blog up a bit and put my fulltime effort into it. i’m going to enter everything into here. every turning point or event that takes place in the life of Jason Boot, will now be in here. every whimsical moment. the daily adventures of one man, trying to get a job in radio.

granted, there are so many of these reality deals everywhere today and every Jason, Jack and Harvey wants to be the next Ashley Parker Angel (way too much MTV with Starr these days), and to be honest with you, this blog is not really that much different. you see, i really need money, and trying to be funny, creative, and interesting is way better then working at say, i don’t know, the Sears outlet store.

so the way i figure it, if that no talent hack can drive around in a luxury car all day and do nothing but rip off Zach Morris earth pauses and be a star, then i must be able to do something for myself here.

So it begins now…….Starr and i bought a cat.
